Become an Accredited Counter Fraud Specialist - Study with the professionals.

15 March 2016

Both in the public and private sectors, the post nominal initials ACFS indicate a qualified and competent counter-fraud professional.  For practitioners it grants recognition of their specialist skill set, and for industry it provides assurance that investigators have the required skills and knowledge to investigate appropriately.

The Economic Crime Academy’s Accredited Counter Fraud Specialist programme is a bit special.  Fully integrated into the Economic Crime Directorate at the City of London Police, we’ve capitalised on the force’s remit to tackle some of the most complex challenges facing British businesses, British government and British consumers today – those of cybercrime, bribery and fraud – to produce our own ACFS product.

Since 2012 the Economic Crime Academy has continually channelled the operational learning of the Economic Crime Directorate and its partner agencies across the public and private sectors in our unique training solutions. Working closely with our colleagues at Action Fraud and the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau (NFIB), we can incorporate real data on intelligence, information on emerging threats, and case studies from real crime into our teachings.  We developed the standard for the Fraud Investigation Model which underpins the work of detectives across the UK.

No other training provider can lay claim to such resources or expertise, making the Academy the leader in its field.

Our training is current and delivered by qualified, experienced and expert practitioners, backed up by stringent quality control procedures and a strong understanding of contemporary best practices.  We use experts from the City of London Police to provide examples of real operations and give their experiences first hand.

The Academy ACFS programme incorporates our expertise and into a finely crafted training package designed to give practitioners the best possible skills basis to be an asset to their organisation. 14 days of intensive tutor led training is split into six modules, which take delegates right through the counter fraud cycle.

From building and developing counter fraud capabilities, through adopting proper, ethical and effective strategies and seeing them through to successful and appropriate outcomes, the Economic Crime Academy’s ACFS programme is the course of choice for those with a eye for quality.
