Courses that focus on online investigations

Courses that focus on online investigations

02 December 2016

The Economic Crime Academy has launched two new internet investigation courses, aimed at the foundation and advanced level investigators.

With more and more individuals and businesses embracing the Internet and making it part of their lives, digital footprints are being left in the surface and deep web. A plethora of data is floating in cyber space and, to an online investigator, the Internet has become a vital tool as web browsers, search engines, and social media monitoring tools have all developed with far more capabilities to assist in the retrieval of information.

The foundation level course will introduce individuals to the Internet tools that support investigation of and research into fraud, whereas the advanced level gives a deeper understanding of the sub-surface functionality of the Internet that can bring significant benefits to your investigations.

Both courses will focus in detail on the tools and processes for extracting the relevant information and will make investigators and researchers more aware of the potential to extract further sources of evidence available to them from the surface and deep web, whilst protecting their own identity.  You can find out more about each of these courses in our prospectus

We’re next running these courses on the following dates:
