Investigating Bribery and Corruption Course

This course aims to develop participants’ understanding of the UK Bribery Act of 2010 and its wider context. Delegates will learn how to plan a bribery investigation from instigation, examining investigation strategies, maximising opportunities and future-proofing enquiries. A case study used throughout the course focuses on the practical considerations as well as legislation and the impact, threat and extent of bribery.

The three elements of bribery and indicators of bribery and corruption
Enablers of bribery including company structures, formation agents and overseas territories
The application of the Bribery Act 2010 and Ministry of Justice Guidance
Principles of effective investigation, planning an investigation and managing ‘self-reporting’

How Will I Learn?

Five-day trainer-led course.

How Will I Be Assessed?

Formative assessment of participation in the case study exercises and a summative assessment at the end of the course.
