Investigating Bribery and Corruption Course

This course aims to develop participants’ understanding of the UK Bribery Act of 2010 and its wider context. Delegates will learn how to plan a bribery investigation from instigation, examining investigation strategies, maximising opportunities and future-proofing enquiries. A case study used throughout the course focuses on the practical considerations as well as legislation and the impact, threat and extent of bribery.

Individuals responsible for the prevention and/or investigation of bribery

  • The three elements of bribery and indicators of bribery and corruption
  • Enablers of bribery including company structures, formation agents and overseas territories
  • The application of the Bribery Act 2010 and Ministry of Justice Guidance
  • Principles of effective investigation, planning an investigation and managing ‘self-reporting’

Five-day trainer-led course.

Formative assessment of participation in the case study exercises and a summative assessment at the end of the course.
