Virtual Currency Investigators Course

The Virtual Currency Investigators Course is designed to enable practitioners to develop their skills and knowledge in recognising and managing virtual currencies in an investigation. Using recent investigation experience, practical demonstrations of Chainalysis software and a virtual currency ATM, learners will develop confidence in investigation, seizure, retention and realisation of virtual assets.

Target Learners

Individuals working in the investigation of fraud and economic crime.

Entry Requirements

No prior technical knowledge or experience is needed.

What Will I Learn?

Types of currency and criminal exploitation of virtual currencies
Virtual currency mining, blockchain, hashing, ledger and reward, anonymisers and mixers
Hot and cold storage, wallets and exchange of virtual currency
Open-source investigation
How to identify, seize, retain, realise and manage seized virtual currencies using the current legislation.
FATF and Virtual Asset Service Providers

How Will I Learn?

Two-day trainer-led course

Attendees will have access to Chainalysis Reactor software, a virtual currency ATM and will be provided with live demonstrations and practical exercises to aid learning.
